Why the focus on teaching adults and mature students in Tactical Hapkido?

The reason what Tactical Hapkido is primarily focused for adults is due to the techniques being devastatingly efficient while using minimal effort.

In the academy, there is the need for maturity in the student.  Those 12 years and younger are allowed to attend if they are accompanied by thier parent or legal guardian.

Students lacking professional maturity are asked to leave the academy and not to return.

Unlike the majority of the martial arts, there are no ritual forms taught, no competition and no required uniforms.

There is a belt ranking and testing system to set goals and achieve the next level of training.

The techniques are designed to combat real life self-defense.  Since the size of the student has no limitation in this style, it is well suited for:

- Individuals 12 years and older
- Women's self-defense
- Elderly
- Persons with disabilities
- Security services / military personnel
- Those wanting to improve balance, coordination,         flexibility and strength.

In this system of Hapkido we teach the concepts and then how to use it in real life selfdefense applications.
